The Maxeys Woman’s Club was chartered in April 1985 and continues to serve the community nearly four decades later. We are proud to have 18 active members, including 4 charter members who helped establish the club: Almeta Winsett, Kathryn Cabaniss, Brenda Yeany, and Barbara Cabaniss.
Our club meets once a month, September through May, on the first Tuesday. Meetings are held either at the Maxeys Community Center or in the homes of our members, providing both structure and fellowship.
Membership is open to women interested in community service and fellowship. Yearly dues are $40.
To enhance the lives of others in our local communities through volunteer service. GFWC Georgia and its members create global change working on a local level—they select projects and programs by determining the specific needs of the communities in which they live and work every day.
The GFWC Maxeys Woman's Club want to make a difference in our community, county, state and nation, in that order.
Members of the Maxeys Woman's Club dedicate our time and talents to serving the community in meaningful ways, with efforts centered on:
Supporting creativity, heritage, and local traditions.
Building connections and encouraging active participation in community life.
Promoting learning opportunities and supporting educational resources.
Caring for our natural surroundings through stewardship and sustainability.
Encouraging healthy living and providing support for community well-being.
